Yebisu Garden Place

The main attraction in Ebisu, Yebisu Garden Place, is home to the Museum of Yebisu Beer and the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum (formerly the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography). Built on the site of the former Yebisu Beer Brewery, many of the original brewery buildings have been repurposed into shops, restaurants, hotels, and a cinema. In fact, the district itself was named after Yebisu Beer.

Founded in 1887, Yebisu Beer is still sold today by its parent company, Sapporo Breweries. Entry to the Museum of Yebisu Beer is free, though beer tastings require a small fee. If you’re in the mood for a drink, Beer Keller Sapporo Kaitakushi, a microbrewery and beer hall, is also located in Yebisu Garden Place.

One of the highlights of the complex is Yebisu Garden Place Tower, a 167-metre skyscraper that houses offices, shops, and restaurants. The 38th and 39th floors are home to upscale restaurants and bars offering stunning panoramic views of Tokyo. On clear days, you can even see Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, and Mount Fuji. While the restaurants can be pricey, they’re a great place for a special meal with a view.

Beyond Yebisu Garden Place, Ebisu is a lively area with plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants. It’s especially famous for ramen, with a large number of noodle shops around Ebisu Station.
