Freshness Burger

Freshness Burger

Freshness Burger, as the name suggests, serves fresh burgers and very tasty ones at that. It began operation in 1992 and has almost 200 locations throughout Japan, a large number in South Korea and a growing number in Hong Kong.

Freshness Burger prides itself on fresh and organic and has a great range of burgers, hot dogs, salads, desserts plus a huge selection of beverages including fancy teas, juices and even beers. The founder of Freshness Burger describes the business as a chain of Burger Cafes and not a fast food outlet. As such all burgers are made to order, as burgers that sit around in a warmer like at some fast food shops would lose their freshness.

Interestingly the Freshness Burger bun is made from pumpkin and the beef is Australian. Their great chips or fires are grown in Hokkaido from a special variety of potato called Hokka Kogane. The burgers have a very American feel and are packed with crisp fresh salads and all the trimmings.

The menu has a variety of burgers and hot dogs that are pretty standard items then there are items that are somewhat unique to Japan. Teriyaki flavor and Salt Lemon Chicken are popular burgers along with the spam burger and bacon omlette burger. Special limited release flavours over the years have included the gyoza burger, cheese fondue burger, peanut butter burger and butter chicken curry burger.
